I ignored the reviews for this flick which were mostly unfavourable figuring that Almodovar is not everybody's cup of tea. On this occasion alas I have to agree. I'm assuming this is meant to be an out and out comedy (there was a fair amount of laughter in the cinema) but to me the material was over reliant on cheap, sensationalist blowjob and gay sex gags a kind of x rated Carry On film with none of the charm and simply not funny enough. I figure that Almodovar fans like myself will watch this regardless of the poor reviews, as for those Almodovar virgins who may be contemplating popping their cherry avoid this and check out the great man's back catalogue.

This cool little 45 minute retrospective documentary offers an enjoyable and informative portrait on the making of "Halloween II." Among the folks interviewed are director Rick Rosenthal, cinematographer Dean Cundey, co-composer Alan Howarth, executive producer Irwin Yablans, actors Leo Rossi and Lance Guest, actor/stunt coordinator Dick Warlock, Tommy Lee Wallace, and actresses Ana Alicia, Tawny Moyer, and Nancy Stephens. Wallace reveals that he was originally offered the opportunity to direct the film, but turned said offer down because he didn't care for the script. Yablans admits that he though the script was pedestrian and predictable as well as thinks the movie went overboard with the graphic gore. Rosenthal points out that he wanted to recreate the look and feel of the original as much as possible because the sequel was a direct continuation of the first one. Rossi talks about how Rosenthal went to bat for his casting as Bud and reveals that the water in the hot tub was freezing cold (we also find out that Pamela Susan Shoop was very reluctant to do the nudity for the hot tub scene). Alicia notes that she was such a hardcore method actress that after she accidentally cut her eye open on a desk shooting her death scene she tried unsuccessfully to persuade Rosenthal to leave that unintended moment in. Guest talks about how eager he was since it was his film debut. Cundey admits that he felt obligated to shoot the film out of a sense of loyalty. In addition, everyone mentions that Pleasence was a total pro to work with, Warlock discusses how careful he was with the cast members concerning their death scenes, the original ending was changed, and John Carpenter shot additional scenes after principal shooting on the movie was completed. Recommended viewing for fans of the film.

Story: Rishi comes to Hyderabad in search of Mafia's deadly duo Stephen and Robert. Nobody knows how they look like. Rishi's mission is to identify them and eliminate them. He starts from the bottom of the mafia pyramid to get to the top. In the process he uses a beautiful girl (Tamanna) who dislikes her father's criminal activity and settles as a dance teacher in Bangkok. The rest of the story is about what prompted Rishi to search for Stephen and Robert and how he eliminates them.Prabhas: Prabhas has a kind of screen persona and a ravishing and manly chiseled body that he makes surrealistic and superlative action sequences completely believable. His dialogue delivery as a angry young man is a great asset. Lawrence has used these two unique features of Prabhas to maximum while working for Rebel film. Prabhas is completely awe-inspiring as Rebel. Prabhas also possess a rare quality of delivering comedy for an out-and-out action hero.Others: Tamanna is beautiful as a dance teacher settled in Bangkok. Deeksha Seth is completely spontaneous in this role compared to her earlier films. Krishnam Raju dons the new get-up of white haired elder man who is dressed in white designer suits all the time. Mukesh Rushi plays an important role. Brahmanandam is used for the comedy in the first half. Kovai Sarala did the role of Tamanna colleague in Bangkok dance school. Pradeep Rawat plays one of the villains. Dr. Bharat Reddy does a vital negative role. There are many new faces who have acted in negative roles. Supreet did an important role of 'right-hand-man' to hero. Ali is entertaining in a cameo.Rebel is an revenge-based action film. Prabhas is known as one of the best mass stars of Telugu cinema. Lawrence's movies are known to appeal to the raw senses of mass movie lovers. Rebel is no exception. Interval block is really good. Rebel has decent commercial elements and targeted at masses. Masses will like it.
